A convicted rapist, who had committed a sexual assault on a teenage girl in 2007 with the aid of his accomplices, was eventually repatriated to his native country, Somalia. Yaqub Ahmed was initially deported from the United Kingdom in 2018, but passengers aboard the aircraft en route to Turkey from Heathrow, seemingly oblivious to his criminality, obstructed the operation after he initiated an outburst. Lamentably, it will not be the sole instance of its genre."

This incident comes years after Ahmed's victim, who was 16 years old when she was gang-raped by Yaqub Ahmed and other criminals, including Adnan Mohamud, 19, Adnan Barud, 21, and Ondogo Ahmed, 19, branded the individuals who obstructed his deportation as flyers. During the time, the then 34-year-old had already served half of his nine-year incarceration.
Ahmed proceeded to state, "They were merely individuals who desired to perform a noble deed and take pride in it," before adding, "Well, I hope that everyone is satisfied with themselves. How could you defend a rapist? How could you intervene? He was restrained with handcuffs, and they were escorting him out of the country... who are you to meddle with the judicial system?"
Following the failed operation, a Home Office spokesperson declared, "We are steadfast in our efforts to safeguard the populace by expelling foreign offenders who perpetrate criminal offenses." Furthermore, in 2018, the Daily Mail reported that the victim recounted her ordeal, which she endured in 2007.
As per reports, the woman alleged that the rapists brought her to a flat on the pretext that her friend was present there, but upon her arrival, she discovered that her friend was not present. She recounted, "I arrived at the location, but my friend was nowhere to be found. They informed me that he had gone to the store and would be back shortly. They then proceeded to restrain me and take turns assaulting me."
"I kept trying to fight back. That's why they were facing me, so I couldn't reach them easily, and then one of them turned me around, and I grasped him by the neck. I was just experiencing this surge of adrenaline. I recollect seizing him, attempting to grab any part of him, attempting to grab his face. He was attempting to bite and scratch," she stated, further adding that the trial of her case left her devastated. She concluded by saying, "They had four lawyers who said vile things to me. The statements they made left me disoriented for years."
Meanwhile, Ahmed's deportation has been celebrated online, with one user tweeting, "Excellent news." Another user commented, "I hope that all the individuals who obstructed his deportation on the first attempt are on the same flight!" The third user shared, "Rescind the citizenship of those passengers who hindered the deportation." The fourth user added, "The passengers who impeded his extradition should be held accountable for the expenses incurred in detaining him for an extended period of time."
