A month ago, the man was allegedly involved in an altercation which soon escalated into violence that ended in gunshots. The incident took place on January 28, and the NYPD has already identified the perpetrator. Law enforcement said comedian Marcos Cofresi was suspected of involvement in a train shootout a month ago.
Police officials said Marcos shot the 34-year-old man in the stomach and forearm as they argued while riding the southbound N train. Police said Marcos Cofresi was with a friend on the night of the shooting, and the duo got into a fight with a 34-year-old man around 1am on January 28. Soon the argument turned into a nasty fight, and just as the train stopped at Canal Street and Broadway Station, Cofresi fired two bullets at the man.

As the victim was injured, she was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The victim's cousin said his condition is now stable and improving. They mentioned that they were shocked to learn that the man who shot his cousin was a comedian.
According to The New York Post, they said: Cofresi was reportedly scheduled to perform at a comedy club in Manhattan on Saturday night. However, he has since been on the run and is wanted by the police for the subway shooting that happened a month ago.
Marcos Cofresi is a comedian and has incorporated crime and police content into his agenda many times. He joked about getting rid of cops on one of his sets. Marcos Cofresi has been arrested twice in the past for illegal marijuana possession and evasion.
At a press conference on February 14, NYPD officers named the comedian and appealed to the public for help in locating him. More information about him was also provided, and authorities said he was last seen wearing a jacket with "New York" written across the front. He wore it with dark grey sweatpants and a baseball cap from the New York Yankees.
