According to authorities, she had just come home from work and was getting ready to take a shower. Police said the bathroom window was slightly ajar. She went out into the yard after hearing a buzzing noise, believing it to be related to her pool. She was getting ready to take a shower when she noticed a drone hovering outside her bathroom window.
According to authorities, when she approached the machine, it was moving fast, hit a tree branch, and fell to the ground. She "quickly grabbed the drone and dunked it in her pool to turn it off, and called the police to report the drone was looking through her bathroom window", they said. Investigators say they have located Jones, a convicted sex offender, as the owner of the drone.
According to the police, since his need expired in 2015, he did not need to register. Jones allegedly admitted to using the drone. Jones's mother introduced herself to KATV when they visited her home on Midland Drive. She said she didn't know he owned the drone.
