Hugh Hudson's journey in the entertainment realm started with commercial productions before he was appointed as a secondary director alongside Alan Parker on the film, Midnight Express. His masterpiece, Chariots of Fire, which was released in 1981, narrated the tale of two British runners participating in the 1924 Olympics and was instrumental in establishing him as a prominent figure in the film industry, earning him accolades globally.
